Groups rides are all fun and sorted. But, like every good thing they come with their own baggage. There’s a lot which can and does go wrong on a group ride. Here are the top 10 things!
1. The Wrong Starbucks!
Starbucks are everywhere these days. So, it’s not uncommon for people to use them as meeting points. Problem is, there are every where. In a large group, there’re always some guys who’ll end up at the wrong one.
2. Somebody takes your key!
With so many guys, bikes, and keys, it isn’t uncommon for the keys to get mixed up. Put in too many stops in the ride, and eventually you’ll end up at a point where someone from the pack is left behind because another has his key and has already left.
3. The cops!
They stop one. They stop everyone. One ticket for a buddy usually means many more for many others.
4. Out of Gas!
It’s not uncommon to lose your way. And what’s equally common is one of the guys with a small tank running out of gas and stranding the whole pack.
The more the number of bikes means more the number of things that can go wrong. One guy has his clutch give up, and the entire group has to give up.
6. Competitive Personalities
No matter how good your club or bunch is. There’ll always be one idiot who wants to come out on top. Even when there’s no race. More often than not, you’ll find him pissing the peace off others in the bunch by unnecessary overtakes and what not.
