Motorcyclist struck, killed in weekend crash

A motorcyclist was killed Saturday evening near Cresson after a three-vehicle crash.

Dillon Lane Carter, 20, of Cresson was pronounced dead at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth shortly after the crash, which occurred around 8:30 p.m.

“Preliminary investigation indicates a 2002 Suzuki motorcycle, driven by Dillon Lane Carter, 20, of Cresson, was traveling north on [State Highway] 171 and was stopped, waiting to make a left turn onto Windmill Court,” DPS Staff Sgt. Ricky Hunter said in a statement. “A 2016 Kia Sorento, driven by Michael A. Serrapica, 63, of Cresson, struck the motorcycle from the rear causing the motorcycle to travel into the southbound lane.”

A southbound 2018 Toyota Tundra driven by 72-year-old William B. Oliver of Granbury then struck the motorcycle, according to DPS.

Carter’s Facebook page states that he has a daughter and son.

No one else was injured in the crash.
